Traditionally this prayer is recited 15 times a day beginning on the Feast of St. Andrew (Nov 30) and concluding on Christmas Eve (Dec 24)
 
This meditative prayer helps us increase our awareness of the real focus of Advent and therefore helps us prepare fo rhte Incarnation of Christ on Christmas Day.
