Do you remember the show on Food Network called "Semi-homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee"? The host, Sandra Lee, would make "semi-homemade" meals with 70% store bought ingredients and 30% fresh ingredients? I loved watching the show because the set would change every episode to match Sandra Lee's outfit, and I was more interested in the new background decorations than I was in the Upsidedown Apple Skillet Pie recipe, however, I digress. I bring it up here because I feel like - as a working, homeschooling mother of 5 (with kids ranging in age from 12 years old, down to 13 months) - I am in a semi-homemade season of life. As much as I dream about making my family beautiful dinners from scratch, with homegrown ingredients... it's simply not going to happen. We're at the ballet studio or on the soccer sidelines every weeknight evening and dinner is usually leftovers or chicken nuggets in the car right now. And that's ok. One day I will be able to make everything from scratch - and our children will be off on their kids soccer sidelines - such is life. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says it more poetically, there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. Ok, but what does this have to do with All Saints Day?

I'm applying Sandra Lee's semi-homemade 70/30 philosophy to All Saints Day costumes.

As much as I would love to put together handmade costumes for All Saints Day.... honestly... the thought of adding another "project" (or in my case... 5 projects..) to my plate is just too much during the month of October. Can you relate?

Over the years on my instagram stories (@thesimplesaints) I've shared pictures and links of costume pieces you can buy to create costumes for a number of different Saints. I thought I'd compile them here in a central place that's easier to access. I plan to continue to add to it in the future as well!

So here it is: a visual guide with links* so that you can easily throw together a semi-homemade All Saints Day costume! By using basic pieces you have on hand -- and having some Saint-specific costume accessories delivered to your door in 2 days thanks to Amazon Prime, you can easily check All Saints Day costumes off your list.
